SALAD BOWL

Salad Bowl Note: it contains a selection of fruit as well. Our Salad Bowl is our newest produce basket, filled with a sumptuous selection of 12 fruits and vegetables that can be eaten raw. Those following a "live food" diet, vegetarian or food combining regime will find this bin made-to-order. It is ideal for those who work irregular hours and don't have time to cook. This bin supplies a nutritionally-balanced selection of items to consume 4 or 5 meals comprised of vegetable dips and/or salads. Though there are staple items for use in every day cooking, we do include other items to ensure variety week to week. Some of the staple itemsyou can expect on a regular basis are tomatoes, lettuce, cooking onions, broccoli, carrots, peppers or avocados, cucumber or zucchini, and bananas.

We include two other types of fruit for the Salad Bowl according to the season. Crisp, crunchy, apples and tangy, sweet oranges are quite common. Sometimes there may be kiwis, grapefruit, berries, pears, peaches, nectarines, apricots or plums. Other items that are rotated through the Salad Bowl quite regularly are green onions, garlic, soft summer squashes, spinach, and salad mix.

We may also on some occasions put in asparagus, cauliflower, celery, mushrooms, bok choy, cabbage, eggplants, beets, artichokes, beans, peas, radishes, ginger, basil, parsley and other fresh herbs, though these items are more seasonal, and much less frequent (some only a few times per year).
